Buy my work as a print!
Providence duo Tiny Showcase has turned a page from my oversized comic Museum into a printed edition of 100 copies. It can be purchased framed or simply as a print. Check it out, and check out the other great works on the site!
The page printed is different from the final one from my book. This was the original wall colour. I then changed the walls to pistachio.

CLIENT AND ARTIST, WORKING TOGETHER
Eight years ago someone told me “If you work for free, you’ll never run out of work”. At the end of that week I quit the place where I was, then, doing an internship. Here’s a video that will ring familiar. It’s advisable to join artist associations, and work together to improve the market on which we all depend. Don’t undersell your hard work, it will affect...

Nobrow Graphic Cosmogony
A little late but here’s a short preview of my story from the great Nobrow Graphic Cosmogony anthology, a beautifully crafted and produced English anthology — See more here. Nobrow are printing nothing but great authors, I was happy to take part in it.
The page above was my favourite from the story. Some of the colours I picked were less crisp than I’d expected. I also discovered a...

Utflukt
Utlfukt is a Norwegian magazine. It focuses on culture and literature. Politics and social issues. For this Africa issue I was guest picture-editor. Featured artists were five. I was not one of them but my name ended up there (apologies). I contributed with a text about my Mozambicanity which you can read here. Fiction by Hawad, Dawit Isaak and my friend Victoria Durnak. Thank You! Featured:...

Japan has been a great source of inspiration for me over the years. I admire many things about Japan, just like many people do. It’s an unusual place where there’s magic and a sort of chivalric attitude in society. So, in times such as these, I thought of giving a tiny contribution to help Japan.
Bid on our artwork and help Japan! Rui Tenreiro — “Lantern from...

ISArC
I met up with the inspiring Dori Gislason in Maputo to talk a bit about art and design in Mozambique, and to talk about ISArC, the first art and design institute in Mozambique. Here’s the meeting with Karina and Maimuna, the design faculty at ISArC, as blogged by Dori. I’m hoping to be able to provide workshops once a year, every time I return to my home town.
Paul Gravett — Museum in 'The Best of 2010'
“A hommage to the old classics, Museum, is actually written in English by Mozambique born Rui Tenreiro for his Master studies. Inspired by old full format newspaper comics like Little Nemo, Museum, is a beautiful piece of art with pages that could easily be framed on walls.”

Helsingin Sanomat "Mystical Forest"
My book ‘The Celebration’ (Metsän Pidot) reviewed in Finland’s biggest newspaper, Helsingin Sanomat. There’s mention about a new wave of comics being made in Northern Europe. It’s the first time a review mentions Antoine (the pilot in the story) as being Antoine de Saint-Exupéry; which is correct of course. Review in Finnish by Harri Römpötti. I think the rest of...
What is Finland Doing Right?
If you’re interested in the Finnish comics scene, you can read the article by Matthias Wivel, Danish comics writer and editor. Having now been in Finland three times as a guest, I can confirm that the attention and dedication the Finnish comics people give to the art is quite something. There’s Huuda Huuda, who is making the most beautifully produced books I’ve seen on the market...

A very nice format for an interview comes from the people at the comics blog Avoid The Future, run by Judith and Martin. It’s a One-Question-Interview with some of their favorite artists. I was very happy to be interviewed. Thanks ATF! Update: Re-featured at Forbidden Planet.
